CDC rolling back data collection about LGBT people’s health

The Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) has included a module on sexual orientation and gender identity.  The Center for Disease Control abruptly announced it will be ceasing the LGBTQ portion of the data collection in 2019.

“I’d like to see universal background checks, which right now are not great considering the Pulse shooter was able to acquire guns when he’d been on an FBI watch list,” organizers said.
