Matthew López makes history as first Latino to win Tony for best play

The Inheritance, the drama that examined the legacy of AIDS, won the Tony Award for Best Play making history with playwright Matthew López becoming the first Latino to win the Best Play Tony. The Inheritance won three other Tony Awards: Andrew Burnap won best actor, Lois Smith won for best featured actress and Stephen Daldry won for best director.
