Disappointing Result at United Methodist General Conference

At the 2019 United Methodist General Conference held in St. Louis, delegates voted 438 to 384 to advance the Traditional Plan, rejecting plans that would ease the restrictions on gay clergy and gay marriage.  The rejected plans would have allowed individual congregations to decided for themselves on LGBT issues. Some congregants feel this may split the UMC church.
