The ACLU filed a lawsuit on behalf of a transgender boy who was denied medical care – not by his mother’s insurance carrier, but by her employer, PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, WA.

Schuyler Bailar, the first openly transgender athlete to compete on an NCAA Division 1 men’s team, was recruited by Harvard to swim for the women’s team.  When he realized he was trans, he told the women’s coach, and was invited to swim for the men’s team.

Texas Church Halts All Weddings Until Clergy Can Officiate Same-Sex Marriages

The United Methodist Church defines marriage as “a union of one man and one woman”.  But in Austin, Texas (yay, Austin!), the First United Methodist Church has taken a stand: they will no longer officiate any weddings until the national leadership changes the rules.
