Google grants $1 million to preserve Stonewall oral history

Sen. Chuck Schumer announced that the funding will go to The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center to start the project, which will work with the National Park Foundation to preserve and educate future generations about what really happened during the Stonewall Riots.

LGBTQ Seniors and Federal Surveys

Under the Trump administration the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services removed questions that identify LGBT+ people from two of its nationwide surveys. These questions were Obama era additions, and have the potential to negatively impact LGBT+ seniors, who will now remain invisible.

Board takes no action after ACLU defends school employee’s anti-gay Facebook post

In referring to the Columbus, Ohio pride parade, the employee said, “I hope this event turns out like the Boston Marathon a few year’s (sic) back. All fag’s (sic) should be killed or at least relocated.”  The ACLU of Ohio reminded the school board that anti-gay statements made in public forum, such as Facebook, are considered part of a belief system and courts have upheld these rights for employees of the government.
