Indonesian university refuses to enroll LGBTI students

The Universitas Andalas in Padang, West Sumatra has brought attention to itself due to a portion of their website insisting students sign a letter declaring they do not identify as LGBT+.  While the page has been removed, the school states LGBT+ students will not be allowed into the school.

The 17-year-old was killed to “wash the shame” of having a gay relative.  Chechen police have instructed family members of gay men to “sort it out” or the state will intervene.

Lithuania one of the first countries to grant asylum to gay men escaping Chechnya

As of this writing, at least two gay people have escaped Chechnya and have been granted asylum visas in Lithuania.
