Missouri Lawmaker Says Being Gay and ‘Being a Human Being’ Are Different

Missouri state representative Rick Brattin has cited the Bible and the Qur’an to prove that there is a distinction between being gay and being human.  Brattin made this statement when arguing against an amendment which would have banned discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

Poll: 64 percent of Americans support same-sex marriage

A new Gallup poll shows 64% support for marriage equality which represents a 3% increase over last year.  Gallup’s first poll in 1996 showed a 27% approval rating.

North Carolina governor vows to increase protections for LGBTI people via executive order

While not yet providing specifics, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper has made the promise of increasing LGBT+ protections in the wake of HB2.  “I’m going to issue an executive order pretty soon that is comprehensive, that helps with LGBT protections and we’re going to keep working every day,” Cooper said.
