Trump administration drops lawsuit against N.C. over “bathroom bill”

The U.S. Justice Department has withdrawn their lawsuit against North Carolina, which claimed discrimination against LGBT+ citizens.  This represents the first significant movement in a mess of legal action over the state’s nondiscrimination laws since a deal last month to get rid of House Bill 2.  This is the bill that caused the state to lose nearly $4 billion.  LGBT+ organizations have vowed to continue separate legal action against the HB2 replacement, which did little to curb discrimination.

Kenneth Adkins, the anti-gay pastor from the state of Georgia, has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of eight counts of child molestation.  Adkins gained notoriety after saying Pulse victims ‘got what they deserved’ after being gunned down in the largest mass shooting in U.S. history.
