Tomoya Hosoda Becomes First Ever Trans Man Elected To Public Office In The World

In a world first, a trans man has been elected to public office.  The 25-year-old was elected as a councilor for the city of Iruma, in the central Kanto region of Japan.

Disney ‘pleased’ to confirm Beauty and the Beast will play in Malaysia without cuts

When Malaysia announced it would censor the film, Disney responded that they would bock any and all screenings of the altered version.  Today Disney announced that the the screening is back on, in its uncensored version.  As we have previously reported, Russia has banned anyone under the age of 16 from viewing the film, and one drive-in theatre in the US has banned showing the film due to their religious views.  These efforts don’t seem to reflect the values of the majority of people because, as the New York Times reported, Beauty and the Beast’ Clobbers Record With $170 Million Opening.

George Michael’s Home Village To Throw Huge Celebration For 54th Birthday

George Michael’s home for many years was Goring, Oxfordshire, and that is where he passed away on Christmas Day.  His loved ones and fellow villagers are planning a memorial celebration and concert to honor his memory.  The event will take place on what would have been Michael’s 54th birthday, 25 June.  All tickets have sold out.
