Faced with hate crimes in Turkey, gay Syrians say ‘visibility’ worth the risks

LGBT+ Syrians have existed only as victims of the Islamic State, explains Syria Direct’s Madeline Edwards from Germany, where he now lives.  He is organizing a contest, dubbed Mr. Gay Syria, which he hopes will serve as “a message that those who left [Syria] are forming a community and want to enjoy life and advance their rights.”

Pubs boycott Coopers Beer Following Bible Society Marriage Equality Marketing Campaign

In the video, Liberals MPs debate same-sex marriage with the men agreeing to disagree in a “civil and respectful way”.  Citizens and pub owners did not respond well.  Coopers Facebook page was riddled with comments against their anti-LGBT+ stance, and counter-videos have popped up of people pouring Coopers beer down drain.

Germany Considers Huge Fines for Social Media Hate Speech

If Germany approves proposed legislation, social media companies could potentially face millions of dollars in fines for failing to curb hate speech.  It should be noted that Germany has yet to approve marriage equality.
