16 year old high school track team member Tom Ammiano rightfully won a varsity letter at his New Jersey High School but he never received it, told at the last minute that his final meet did not count. Now, at age 79, the gay rights leader will finally get the varsity letter he deserved 63 years ago. Credit a High Holy Days cantor and computer engineer, Ammiano’s now 90 year old coach, and his Junior year team captain.
