Volunteer to represent GLBTRT on ALA’s Committee on Legislation

Are you a GLBTRT member who regularly attends Midwinter and Annual? Looking to get more involved in the GLBTRT and love learning about the latest ALA legislative engagements at the federal, state, and local level? Then we want to hear from you!

The GLBTRT is currently looking for a Representative to the ALA’s Committee on Legislation (CoL).

Representatives serve as the round table’s primary contact to other groups. They relay information between the round table and CoL and work directly with the round table board, relevant committees, and membership on projects or issues related to the CoL.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to attend CoL meetings, currently held the Friday, Sunday, and Monday of conference from 1-4 p.m., at Midwinter and Annual.
  • Serve a two-year appointment, 2018-2020.
  • Be a current member of the GLBTRT.
  • Report back on the CoL’s activities, usually twice a year after their meetings, with special emphasis on issues relevant to the GLBTRT.

Get in touch and let us know why you’re interested, and what your experience has been in legislative matters or the GLBTRT (if any).
