LGBT Center Arson Leads to Rebirth, Outpouring of Support

After Abounding Prosperity LGBT Resource Center in South Dallas was burned last July, the CEO was not sure the center would reopen.  But $100,000 in donations and several months later, the Center is planning to reopen a few blocks away.

The LGBT community feels slighted by Trump’s World AIDS Day proclamation

Trump acknowledges World AIDS Day, but does not mention LGBT persons.  His press secretary says it is because “HIV/AIDS affects people of all types.”  LGBT activists note that certain groups (particularly people of color and LGBT persons) are disproportionately affected.

Federal agency calls on Congress to pass LGBTQ anti-discrimination law

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights released a new report – and call to action – on employment discrimination against LGBT persons within the private sector and local and federal government.  It also noted that the “patchwork” of state and federal regulations leave most LGBT persons unprotected from discrimination.

Yet another discussion about wedding cake discrimination – an excellent explanation of the current pro-Phillips (the baker) brief filed with the Supreme Court.  If the Court agrees, it would lead to huge expansion of “religious liberty” (and discrimination).
