Virginia GOP Devises Transphobic Way to Refuse to Call Danica Roem ‘Gentlewoman’

In order to not call duly elected democrat (and trans woman) Danica Roem “gentlewoman”, which is the customary address for women in the Virginia House of Delegates, GOP Delegates will do away with the 400-year-old tradition of gendered titles.  Roem decided to use the situation to speak out in support of other non-binary persons who might be inclined to run for office.

OutFront: Parents’ group sends thousands of holiday letters to LGBTQ youth

“Your Holiday Mom”, founded by Robin Rice, is a virtual letter writing service for LGBTQ youth who have been rejected by their families due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.  Along with over 40 other moms and dads, the group will reach out to over 23,000 LGBTQ youth with words of love and acceptance.

New York City Police Training Lags on Transgender Rules, Report says

Five years after the New York Police Department’s Patrol Guide was revised to better serve transgender persons, officers in only six of the 77 precincts have been trained on the changed rules.
