Transgender service members sue over Trump military ban

At least two lawsuits have been filed against Mr. Trump’s mandate to ban transgender people from the U.S. military.  Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, discussing one of the lawsuits, argued that the President’s “unilateral decision” was made “without any meaningful deliberative process and was directly contrary to the considered judgment of the military.”

West Chicago Public Library denies request to remove gay pride book

A parent took their objection to a children’s book This Day In June, the 2015 Stonewall Children’s and Young Adult Literature Award winner, to the library board who discussed the issue at their next board meeting.  The parents indicated they felt the library was not providing a “safe space” for their child.  The library board has chosen to make no changes to the collection.
