What A Justice Neil Gorsuch Would Mean For LGBTQ Americans

Workplace protections, access to healthcare, and marriage equality, among others, could be at risk if Gorsuch is confirmed as the next Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.  As Sarah Kate Ellis, GLAAD President & CEO puts it, “Neil Gorsuch’s harmful history of discrimination against the LGBTQ community renders him completely unfit to sit on the highest court in the land.”

Jess Herbst Becomes Texas’s First Openly Transgender Mayor

In one of the most conservative suburbs in the state, about 40 minutes from Dallas, New Hope’s Mayor Jess Herbst has become the first openly transgender mayor in Texas.  She writes in a letter on the town’s website, “As your Mayor I must tell you something that has been with me since my earliest memories, I am Transgender.”

Trump Taps LGBT Foe Jerry Falwell Jr. To Head Education Task Force

Anti-LGBT fundamentalist Jerry Falwell Jr. will head the Department of Education policy task force.  Falwell is currently president of Liberty University, founded by his anti-gay extremist father.  The university has hosted many anti-LGBT events including those promoting conversion therapy.  In addition, the school supports creationism and climate change denial.
