Mexico Supreme Court (once again) declares same-sex marriage bans unconstitutional

The Mexico Supreme Court declared this week that all bans on same sex marriage in that country were unconstitutional. The move comes after a same-sex couple in the state of Jalisco had filed a suit challenging the ban. The Court first moved earlier this year in June to legalize same-sex marriage. Via PinkNews:

Nevertheless, the nation’s highest court has once again ruled that move discriminated against the LGBT community and is therefore unconstitutional.

It added that state authorities could not “deny benefits to the claimants or set charges related to the regulation of marriage.”
