PinkNews is reporting that the National Library Board in Singapore has ordered the withdrawal of two children’s books with LGBT characters. The books And Tango Makes Three and The White Swan Express have been removed from their collections following a single complaint. Petitions to reverse the action have so far gone nowhere, and it is expected that the books will soon be destroyed.
When I first went to Singapore in the mid ’80s. a new puritanical tight wing movement was taking place and it appears that thinking is still going on. It definitely had no popular support then but perhaps we need to follow the money yet again.
