The new law mandates life imprisonment for homosexuals, a violation of Article 21 of the country\u2019s constitution because it does not regulate behavior of heterosexual people, according to the activists. They also filed a permanent injunction to prevent media from publishing photos and names of allegedly LGBT people. The appeal to the Constitutional Court also refers to Article 19 which gives parliament the power to create laws for the betterment of Ugandan society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Legally married same-sex couples <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2014\/03\/14\/obamacare-lgbt-rights_n_4961015.html?ir=Gay%20Voices  \">gained a bit more last Friday <\/a>when the Department of Health and Human Services required insurance companies to provide these couples equal coverage to opposite-sex spouses.\u00a0 just gained a little more recognition in the eyes of the federal government.
