Communication on the internet about the state\u2019s actions may have embarrassed legislators enough that they withdrew their idea. Because that\u2019s exactly what they did when they <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/story\/2014\/02\/03\/1274806\/-Online-Backlash-Kills-Kansas-swipe-at-expanding-Internet?detail=email\">postponed hearings set for last week.<\/a> State Sen. Julia Lynn (R-Olathe) announced that she \u201cvisited with industry representatives \u2026 [who]agreed to spend some time gathering input before we move forward with a public hearing.\u201d The original bill, giving power to cable companies, was introduced by John Federico, a cable industry lobbyist.
