The cartoonist\u2019s graphic memoir reveals the author\u2019s developing understanding of her sexuality while she was a child and addresses questions about her closeted father\u2019s hidden life and sudden death.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/entertainment\/archive\/2013\/11\/we-just-sat-and-held-each-other-how-it-feels-to-watch-your-life-story-onstage\/281369\/ \"> The <i>New York Times <\/i>reviewed the production <\/a>at the Public Theater in New York as \u201ca shining clarity that lights up the night.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A new biography of artist Norman Rockwell suggests that the artist had same-sex desires, and the family is not happy about the author\u2019s descriptions of homoerotic undertones. <i>American Mirror, <\/i>published by FSG, was written by Deborah Solomon. The Norman Rockwell Museum (Stockbridge, MA) differs. Museum director Laurie Norton Moffatt described the book as \u201ca well researched and written biography that presents many unique themes and interpretations about the artist.\u201d The family\u2019s objections are most likely guaranteeing brisk sales of the book.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bandofthebes.typepad.com\/bandofthebes\/2013\/12\/the-best-lgbt-books-of-2013.html  \">Band of Thebes has released its list of 92 LGBT writers<\/a> selecting the best books that they read during 2013.
