Author Linda Harvey pulled it off the website because she &#8220;saw the rotten reviews, a smear campaign by those who had not read the book.\u201d After amazon did not immediately take down the reviews, Harvey took her book. Harvey is known for extremist homophobic views such as asking that LGBT employees be fired and claiming that LGBT-supportive education is \u201cchild abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HRC\u2019s publication, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hrc.org\/files\/assets\/resources\/2013BuyersGuide.pdf \">Buying for Workplace Equality 2013: A Guide to Companies, Products and Services That Support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Workplace Inclusion<\/a>,\u201d is available in pdf format.<\/p>\n<p>Despite complaints, Dell Inc. continues to see computer filter software that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.care2.com\/causes\/when-gay-becomes-a-dirty-word-on-the-internet-we-all-lose.html \">blocks LGBT websites<\/a>. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicwall.com\/us\/en\/products\/Network_Security_Content_Filtering_Categories.html\">SonicWall \u00a0product<\/a>, according to the corporation, is designed for users wanting to block \u201csites that provide information, promote, or cater to gay and lesbian lifestyles.\u201d One of the websites that the software would block is gay.com, a source of information, events, resources, and culture for LGBTQ and straight-ally teenagers. After being alerted to concerns, another company selling filtering software,Trend Micro Inc.,\u00a0 will permit LGBT websites. Both companies received 100 percent in the HRC workplace equality rating, but only one filters out LGBT websites.<\/p>\n<p>A free showing of a Free &amp; Equal documentary, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unfe.org\/human-rights-day-round-up\">Sport Comes Out against Homophobia<\/a>,\u201d starring gay and lesbian athletes and activists for LGBT and intersex rights at a United Nations event on Human Rights Day is available on its website. The Free &amp; Equal campaign aims to raise awareness of homophobic and transphobic violence and discrimination, and encourage greater respect for the rights of LGBT people everywhere.
