Maps, comical satire, decorative letters, landscapes, and other illustrations are now in the public domain thanks to a gift from Microsoft.\u00a0 The featured image comes from <i>Historia de las Indias de Nueva-Espa\u00f1a y islas de Tierra Firme,<\/i> 1867. To provide more information about the source of illustrations, the Library plans to release tools that will let willing participants gather information about the Flickr Commons collection. You can jump into the entire collection\u00a0 or view <a href=\" http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/britishlibrary\">a set of highlights here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Oxford\u2019s Bodelian Library has put a digitized version of a 550-year-old Gutenberg Bible online as well as other ancient bibles. Additionally, more images were releases from Amsterdam\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openculture.com\/2012\/11\/rijksmuseum_puts_125000_masterpieces_online.html\">Rijksmuseum<\/a>,\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openculture.com\/2013\/08\/the-getty-puts-4600-art-images-into-the-public-domain.html\">Getty<\/a>, \u00a0and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.openculture.com\/2013\/04\/the_digital_public_library_of_america_launches_today.html\">Digital Public Library of America<\/a>.
