Terms begin after Annual Conference 2<\/strong>019<\/strong>?.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear Colleagues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALA\nPresidential candidates have been announced, petitions for additional\ncandidates have been filed.  It?s time to look ahead to the 2019 ALA\nElections!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GLBTRT\ndoes not have a nominating committee <\/strong>and anyone who wants to run for\noffice can do so by using ALA?s online election form.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nALA Elections bio-app system is now up and ready for GLBTRT members to start\nsubmitting their nominations and bios for GLBTRT Officer and Executive Board\npositions for 2019.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nfollowing vacancies will be coming up on the GLBTRT Executive Board:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–         \nChair-Elect  – three year term<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–         \nTreasurer ? two year term<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–         \nDirector-at-Large (2 vacancies) ? two year term<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    –         \nRound Table Councilor (1 vacancies) ? three year term<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All\ncandidates running for round table positions must complete the biographical\ninformation form no later than 11:59 pm CST on February 1, 2019, after which\npoint the form will go down and new candidates will not be accepted for the\nballot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\nare the instructions for candidates to register on the system <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.\nYou will see a Self-Register link on the first page within the bolded text at\nthe top of the page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. \nClick on the Register link to fill out the registration information and to set\nyour passcode for the Nominee\/Candidate process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. \nOnce in the Nomination site you will need to select your ballot.  Once you\nhave made your selection, click on ?GO?.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. \nNext you will select the office you wish to run for and then click on ?GO?.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. \nThe first entry, Display Name, is how you would like your name displayed on the\nballot.  Once you have filled in your name, click on ?Next?.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.\nWhen you go to the page with all of the question\/categories to fill in, you\nwill notice the word count monitor.  Once you reach the limit, the word\ncount monitor turns RED. Please remember to save your work often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. \nIf you try and submit your work with one or more required questions\/categories\nnot completed properly, the system will not let you submit. If this is the\ncase, you will notice the word ?Required? by each required category or field\nthat was missed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. \n If you hit logout, the page will turn grey, provide a notification that\nyour work must be saved before logging out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. \nWhen you hit finish you will be able to view your work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. \nOnce you have reviewed your work, if you would like to make any changes, click\nthe ?Previous? button and if what you have entered meets with your approval,\nplease hit the ?Submit? button and then the ?Finish? button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. \nIf at any time during the process, you run into technical difficulties or have\na question, please click on the ?Support? button located at the bottom of the\npage.  Individuals at ALA cannot troubleshoot problems with the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates\nmust click the SUBMIT button, and then the FINISH button to successfully submit\ntheir info. <\/strong>\nCandidates who do not complete their bio form by February 1st<\/sup> will\nnot be included on the ballot.
