Let me know what you are interested in, your involvement in those groups, and resume, if relevant.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Groups:<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>American Association of School Librarians (AASL)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Association of Library Service to Children (ALSC)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Freedom to Read Foundation (FTRF)*<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Legislation Assembly (ALA Committee on Legislation)*<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>New Members Round Table (NMRT)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Public Library Association (PLA)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRST)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>*Please note that the Freedom to Read Foundation and Legislation Assembly both require Midwinter and Annual attendance.<\/p>\n<p>The representative:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>serves a one or two year term;<\/li>\n<li>in many cases, will serve as the representative to both the GLBTRT and the other group;<\/li>\n<li>monitors both group?s email lists, newsletters, blogs, and social media for meetings, invitations, announcements, events, and programs;<\/li>\n<li>attends necessary meetings at Midwinter and Annual of both groups;<\/li>\n<li>relays information back and forth between both groups&#8217; email lists;<\/li>\n<li>gathers feedback from GLBTRT membership and\/or board when needed using the membership email list;<\/li>\n<li>engages with GLBTRT committees and chairs when needed; and<\/li>\n<li>submits reports to the board soon after Midwinter and Annual using these?<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/glbtrt\/board\/secretary\/reports\">reporting guidelines<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Round table communication channels to monitor:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Newsletter:?<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/glbtrt\/news\">http:\/\/www.ala.org\/glbtrt\/news<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Email Lists:?<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/glbtrt\/involved\/email\">http:\/\/www.ala.org\/glbtrt\/involved\/email<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Guidelines for Specific Representatives<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/glbtrt\/representatives\/legislation\">Legislation Assembly Representatives<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/glbtrt\/representatives\/ftrf\">Freedom to Read Foundation Representatives<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You must be a current member of GLBTRT to volunteer.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you!<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Maguire-Wright<\/p>\n<p>Chair, GLBTRT<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings!
