It’s a good week for bisexual representation in media. A same-sex kiss on the CW’s apocalyptic drama The 100 <\/em>led to confirmation by the show’s creators that its main character is, in fact, bisexual (via the Advocate<\/a>):<\/p>\n

‘In?#The100<\/strong><\/a>, they don’t label themselves. If Clarke’s attracted to someone, gender isn’t a factor. Some things improve post-apocalypse.’<\/p>\n

‘Clarke is a bisexual character. Remember that in this society, no one’s worried about it. They’re worried about spears to the chest.?#The100<\/strong><\/a>‘<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Meanwhile, at DC comics, another same-sex kiss in issue 39 of the Catwoman<\/em> confirmed what’s had a long history of hints and speculation: that Selina Kyle is also bisexual. According to the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Writer Genevieve Valentine, who took over the series in October, wrote on her blog<\/a> that establishing Selina Kyle as “canon bisexual” was an “indispensable” beat she always had intended to hit in the series.<\/p>\n

“She’s flirted around it ? often quite literally ? for years now,” wrote Valentine. “For me, this wasn’t a revelation so much as a confirmation.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
