He says he\u2019s been \u201clurking\u201d for about a year and is looking to get more involved.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently in a para position and does \u201cas much reference and teaching as they allow me.\u201d He hopes to land an academic librarian position, and has started teaching himself some of the aspects of Digital Humanities in an effort to enhance his \u201cemployability.\u201d His passions are knowledge and helping people.<\/p>\n<p>Michael has had a partner of almost three years. He earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College in 2004, and is currently trying to write a novel he started at that time. He hopes to publish fiction one day. He also cooks and eats a lot of Asian food.<\/p>\n<p>If he were an animal, Michael would be a cat. He says, \u201cMy first word was \u2018kitty\u2019 and I had the fortune of having a Siamese cat as a constant companion through childhood and twenties. I admire the species.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If Michael could have a dinner party with 5 culturally or historically significant figures, living or dead, he would invite Bette Davis, Tori Amos, Sylvia Plath, Oscar Wilde, and Empress Wu Zetian.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tess Goldwasser Michael is a new member of the RT.
