Though no timeline was explicitly given, much of the speculation rests on one of the show&#8217;s main characters, Daryl Dixon. Via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinknews.co.uk\/2014\/08\/29\/the-walking-dead-exec-we-will-introduce-gay-characters\/\">PinkNews<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe fact that there\u2019s still a question as to what Daryl\u2019s orientation is in Season 5 absolutely speaks to Daryl\u2019s character; he is a very guarded, very closed-off individual in a lot of ways.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been able to see him ever so slowly open up and show the other characters aspect by aspect as to what makes him tick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s been a very satisfying journey for all of us on the creative side to portray.
