CCBC To Discuss Queer Books for Youth

“Transgender and Gender Non-Conformity in Books for Children and Teens” is the May discussion topic for the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. The first two weeks is a general discussion of the topic. The second two weeks will concentrate on Susan Kuklin’s Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out (Candlewick Press, 2014); Sarah Hoffman and Ian Hoffman’s Jacob’s New Dress, illustrated by Chris Case (Albert Whitman, 2014); and Christine Baldacchino’s Morris Micklewhite and the Tangerine Dress, illustrated by Isabelle Malenfant (Groundwood Book/House of Anansi Press, 2014 ).
