At least two lawsuits have been filed against Mr. Trump’s mandate to ban transgender people from the U.S. military. Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, discussing one of the lawsuits, argued that the President’s “unilateral decision” was made “without any meaningful deliberative process and was directly contrary to the considered judgment of the military.”
In response to the U.S. Justice Department filing a legal brief stating that LGBT rights are not protected under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Fast Company has compiled a list, including maps, illustrating just how unprotected LGBT citizens are.
A parent took their objection to a children’s book This Day In June, the 2015 Stonewall Children’s and Young Adult Literature Award winner, to the library board who discussed the issue at their next board meeting. The parents indicated they felt the library was not providing a “safe space” for their child. The library board has chosen to make no changes to the collection.
