Justice Department ordered to release 50’s era ‘gay purge’ documents

The Mattachine Society of Washington, D.C., has been fighting for five years for the release of President Dwight Eisenhower’s Executive Order, signed in 1953, that ordered the purge of LGBTQ employees.  A federal judge has ordered the Justice Department to release all documents.

Trans teen suicide attempts may have spiked because of Trump’s tweets

The Trevor Project runs a LGBTQ teen suicide hotline and they posted statistics on their blog about the calls they receive.  Within 24 hours after Mr. Trump’s anti-trans military ban, contacts with transgender individuals more than doubled.  Similarly, when Texas introduced their anti-trans “bathroom bill,” contacts with transgender youth doubled.

The RAISE Act, introduced by Senators David Perdue (R-GA) and Tom Cotton (R-AR) seeks to reduce legal immigration by 50% by cutting the number of green cards issued.  It would also impose a 50,000 per year cap on refugees, and completely eliminate the visa diversity lottery.
