Pride in Kuala Lumpur cancelled following religious complaints

Students at Taylor University, located near Kuala Lumpur, planned a three day LGBT+ celebration which they canceled, reportedly at the request of the university.  The student group went on to condemn anti-LGBT+ activity in the country saying in part: “The State has perpetrated systemic oppression on LGBT spaces and discourses…”

United Nations official wants answers on gay detentions in Indonesia

The human rights office of the United Nations is calling on Indonesia to release people detained because of their perceived sexual orientation.

Gay issues discussed at meeting of France and Russia’s leaders

Macron indicated he spoke to Putin about LGBT+ issues and rights in Chechnya as well as the rights of embattled NGOs in Russia.  Macron also insisted he would be “constantly vigilant” on these issues.
