AMA declares no reason for trans military ban

By John Mack Freeman

The American Medical Association has waded into the discussion over trans service in the military by declaring that there is no reason that trans people cannot serve. Specifically the organization passed a measure that said in part:

RESOLVED, That our American Medical Association affirm that there is no medically valid reason to exclude transgender individuals from service in the US military (New HOD Policy)

This is fast on the heels of the US Air Force declaring that a transgender identity or a diagnosis of gender dysphoria would no longer be sufficient grounds for dismissal from duty.
