If you are interested in serving an a GLBTRT standing committee, we are still accepting applicants for the following committees:
- Advocacy Committee [Newly formed, no webpage yet]
- Bylaws Committee
- Fund Raising Committee
- Membership Promotion Committee
- News Committee
- Program Planning Committee
- Resources Committee
- Reviews Committee
- Web Committee
These committees meet virtually and do a lot of their work via email. They do not require attendance at ALA. Appointments begin at the end of ALA Annual Conference 2015 and generally are two year appointments.
If you are interested in applying for an appointment on a standing committee, please submit an application from (http://www.ala.org/glbtrt/involved/form) by April 1, 2015. Committee appointments will begin after ALA Annual in July.
We are not accepting applicants for the Stonewall Book Awards Committee, Over the Rainbow Book List or Rainbow Book List at this time; A separate call for those volunteers will be sent out after ALA Annual. Appointments for Stonewall Book Awards Committee, Over the Rainbow Book List or Rainbow Book List are two year appointments, require conference attendance at two Midwinters and begin at the end of ALA Midwinter Conference 2016.
We are also seeking locals who can assist in planning the Socials at the following conferences:
- 2016 Midwinter Meeting, (Boston, MA: January 8–12, 2016)
- 2016 Annual Conference, (Orlando, FL: June 23–28, 2016)
- 2017 Midwinter Meeting (Atlanta, GA: January 20-24, 2017)
- 2017 Annual Conference (Chicago, IL: June 22-27, 2017)
Note: The social is typically held on the Sunday evening of Conference.
