Delhi, India schools become more trans-inclusive

Access to school’s in Delhi, India may become easier for trans persons there. “Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has declared the inclusion of transgender children in schools across the capital of India” according to PinkNews. This means that they will now be eligible for the 25 percent reservation for economically weaker section (EWS) and disadvantaged students that are already reserved in schools. The Health Department in Delhi will soon begin issuing the required documentation to receive this benefit. The move was made after a 2011 census revealed that there are 4.9 lakh (approximately 490,000) transgender people living in India.
