Link Round-Up: New Yorker, Autostraddle, Out

The New Yorker published a piece by Michelle Goldberg called “What is a Woman?: The dispute between radical feminism and transgenderism.” This article is making waves and has already prompted a response from Mari Brighe on Autostraddle entitled “The New Yorker’s Skewed History of Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminism Ignores Actual Trans Women.

A new web series has been published that reimagines the fight for Scottish independence as a gay romantic comedy. United Queendom was created by Bob Denahm. Watch the trailer below:

The International AIDS Conference this year has been criticized for the low number of trans speakers or speakers specifically addressing trans-related issues. This is despite the fact that trans people are 49x more likely to have HIV than the rest of the population.

Michigan State University received an anonymous gift of $1 million from the estate of one of its alum for its LGBT Resource Center this week.
