GLBTRT Is Recuriting Liaisons

GLBTRT is recruiting members who would like to serve as liaisons from the RT to the following groups:

  • Association for Library Services to Children (ALSC)

  • The Freedom to Read Foundation

  • The Legislation Assembly

  • New Members Round Table (NMRT)

  • PRT
  • Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT)

GLBTRT Representatives

Purpose

Representatives serve as the round table’s primary contact to other groups.  They relay information between the round table and their target groups and work directly with round table board, committees, and membership on projects or issues related to their target groups.

Guidelines

The representative:
  • serves a one year term; or a two year term
  • in many cases, will serve as the representative to both the GLBTRT and the other group;
  • monitors both group’s email lists, newsletters, blogs, and social media for meetings, invitations, announcements, events, and programs;
  • attends necessary meetings at Midwinter and Annual of both groups;
  • relays information back and forth between both groups’ email lists;
  • gathers feedback from GLBTRT membership and/or board when needed using the membership email list;
  • engages with GLBTRT committees and chairs when needed;
  • submits reports to the board soon after Midwinter and Annual using these reporting guidelines; and
  • mentors their alternate.
